There is myriad of life hacks out there all promising us good living and happiness. Some people think that boosting your self-confidence is the key, while others hold that empathy is the right way. We are not saying these people are wrong, but there is still something out there that hasn't been discussed when it comes to being happy all the time. One word – gratitude. Feeling grateful for what you have is guaranteed to transform you into a positive, happy person. All you need to do is follow a few simple guidelines and you will be on the right path to achieving happiness.
Think of a horrible event in your life and focus on the positive sides of what had happened. In other words, ask yourself how you have grown, how has the event enriched you and benefited you as a person. If you think hard enough, you will soon realize that you started appreciating people around you more after the sad event took place. As a result you will feel grateful and ultimately happy.
Next, introduce this simple ritual into your daily routine for a week. Every night before you go to sleep write down three positive things that happened that day. For instance, you got an email from an old friend asking how you were and what's new. Or perhaps your kid got an A in a science project. If you do this exercise for a week it will probably stick and in six months' time the chances are you will be less depressed and simply – happier.
